As your chapter grows, you will face two challenges: engaging joining members and retaining those you already have. In fact, they're two sides of the same problem, and chapters across the country have learned a lot over the years about how to build lasting social ties that keep members in the struggle despite the setbacks. This training is aimed at chapter leaders who want to learn from other chapters' experiences and connect with their membership in a lasting way so that their chapters can continue growing.
The training itself will be 60 minutes, but the facilitators may stay on a little later afterwards to answer questions and collect feedback if you want to stick around!
DSA is a democratic organization, but what does that mean? We have to fairly and transparently balance both the wills and needs of our members even when there are deep differences in perspectives.
If that sounds challenging, that’s because it is! This training will introduce you to the tools to make and execute decisions democratically, including delegation of authority, parliamentary process, and consultative democracy. This is a course for all experience levels of DSA members, and we will tailor the content to your learning goals!
Dig into the why and how of sharing Constructive Criticism with comrades. This interactive workshop will walk through tried and true steps for formulating, delivering, and receiving feedback.
Our work in never easy. Conflict and struggle are ever present and unavoidable. Come learn the skills for how to transform those moments of tension and disagreement into productive growth opportunities and build a stronger, healthier culture within DSA!
